Pursuing and achieving PCI compliance.

Data Security is a top priority for Discover Network. To that end, Discover Network is committed to supporting the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as the single data security standard for the payment card industry.

As part of our ongoing security initiatives, Discover Network — together with the other major payment card brands — adopted the PCI DSS as the security requirement for organizations that process, store or transmit Discover Network cardholder data. Discover Network recommends that all service providers (including VARs) who process, store or transmit Discover Network cardholder data comply with the PCI DSS.

Becoming PCI compliant is a smart business move, as it will help you attract new customers and protect the business that you already have. Merchants will increasingly seek out service providers who are PCI certified, and if you’re not, they may no longer use your products and services.

At the VAR Connection, you’ll find tips and useful information about PCI compliance validation and reporting. You’ll also find valuable resources, including a link the PCI Security Standards Council.

(Tip: When you go in to update your code to be PCI compliant, check to make sure that Discover Network Card Types are turned “on” and that your IIN (BIN) table has been updated to include the Discover Network 601100 IIN Range and all the new Discover Network IIN Ranges.)
